Controlling Anger
1. Who was Abhi? How was his behaviour?
= Abhi was a student of class V.
He became angry over small matters. His behaviour was rude with everyone. He would hit anyone in anger. He would fight with everyone. He did not have self control.
2. How did Abhi generally become angry?
= Anything made him angry. If somebody took his pencil or eraser by mistake, Abhi get wild. Everybody was fed up with him.
3. What was the consequence of his anger?
= Everybody avoided him. A time came when even his friends changed track when they saw him come.
4. What happened one day?
= One day, Abhi fell down and a boy from another class rushed to help him. But some other children tried to stop him. No one came to help him at all.
5. How was his condition now?
= Now, he realised his plight. Abhi went home and cried his heart out. His anger had left him all alone. Nobody loved him.
6. Who came to help him? And how did he help him?
= His younger brother came up to help him.
He advised Abhi to write angry letters and tear them. Throw them in the dustbin. Slowly he will be able to control his anger.
7. What did Tarun's Yoga teacher tell them?
= Tarun's Yoga teacher told them that whenever people come to you, extend your hand to make friends. Shake hands with them. Now it is a friendly action. It will give them the message that you want friendship.
8. What did Abhi do then?
= Abhi tried it. To begin with he used to write letters to at least one person everyday, but slowly, he started writing just once a week. To his surprise, when he extended his hand some children smiled and caught hold of his hand as if waiting to be friends with him.
9. What was the second trick given by the Yoga teacher of Tarun?
= This is simpler one. When someone hesitates to hold your hand then you clasp his hand and tell him that you are sorry. This one word shows that you regret your mistake.
10. What did Abhi realise at last?
= He realised that his classmates and friends were happy with the change in his behaviour. Now, Abhi became a sensible boy. He was thankful to his brother having helped him.
