Imagine a wardrobe that has a door leading to a magical place. What would you like to find in this magical place?
= I would like to find a magical chocolate land. Trees with chocolates and chocolaty flowers all around.

= 'They' are the troop of children including Peter excluding Lucy.

= Lucy did not troop out with the others because she thought it would be worthwhile trying the door of the wardrobe.
c. What does this tell us about Lucy?
= This tells that Lucy was a brave and determined girl who seeks every possibilities though there is less chances to be successful.
4. "This must be a simply enormous wardrobe!" thought Lucy, going still further in and pushing the soft folds of the coats aside to make room for her."
a. What did Lucy find in the wardrobe?
= Lucy found several long fur coats in the wardrobe.
b. Why did Lucy think that the wardrobe was 'enormous'?
= Lucy went inside the wardrobe. She found a second row of coats hanging hanging up behind the first one. She went on but she could not feel the back of the wardrobe. This made Lucy think that the wardrobe was 'enormous'.
c. Was Lucy careful when entering the wardrobe? Give reasons for your answer.
= Yes, Lucy was careful when entering into the wardrobe.
It was almost quite dark inside. She kept her arms stretched out in front of her so as not to bump her face into the back of the wardrobe.
5. "Next moment she found that what was rubbing against her face and hands was no longer soft fur but something hard and rough and even prickly."
a. What was rubbing against Lucy's face?
= Branches of trees, which grow in the snow, were rubbing against Lucy's face.
b. What else did Lucy find in this new place?
= Lucy found that she was standing in the middle of a wood at night-time with snow under her feet and snowflakes falling through the air.
c. Was Lucy afraid?
= Lucy felt a little frightened, but she felt very inquisitive and excited as well.
6. "And soon after that a very strange person stepped out from among the trees into the light of the lamp-post."
a. Where was the lamp-post?
= The lamp-post was in the middle of the wood where Lucy was standing.
b. Describe the strange person in detail.
= The strange person was only a little taller than Lucy herself and he carried over his head an umbrella, white with snow. From the waist upwards he was like a man, but his legs were shaped like a goat's and instead of feet he had hoofs.
He also had a tail holding up over the arm to keep it from training in the snow. He had red woollen muffler round his neck and his skin was reddish. He had strange pleasant little face with a short beard and curly hair. He had two horns out of the hair one on each side of his forehead.
c. Does the strange person notice Lucy? What does he do after that?
= Yes, the strange person notices Lucy.
When he saw Lucy, he gave a start of surprise and dropped all his parcels.

7. From what you have read, can you describe the place Lucy walked into from the wardrobe? What can you guess about the place?
= It was a wood. It was night. There were snow on the ground. Snowflakes were falling through the air. There were many dark tree trunks. There was a lamp post in the middle of the wood.
It was a mysterious place. God of the woods lived there. May be it was Christmas time there. The Faun had gone to Christmas shopping.
8. Do you think Lucy will be able to walk back into the room because she had left the wardrobe door open?
= Yes, I think Lucy will be able to walk back into the room because she had left the wardrobe door open. She could still see the open doorway of the wardrobe and even catch a glimpse of the empty room from she had set out. She had, of course, left the door open, for she knew that it is a very silly thing to shut oneself into a wardrobe.
